Carbon Balancing

Do you ever wonder what you would have to do to carbon balance a specific aspect of your life? Would you like to make amends for the emissions you created during your last flight, or due to your daily commute? This section of the site is designed to give you hints and tips on CO2 balancing, so you can keep your carbon footprint as small as possible.
Getting
Started
1) Click on either 'daily commute' or 'return flight' below, depending on what you would like to balance. You will then need to enter a few more details before clicking on 'Balance!'
2) You will be presented with 3 options for balancing the carbon you've created. The first will include a couple of big switches, the second will be 4 or 5 medium switches and the third will be several smaller switches. You will have to complete all of the switches within the option to balance out the carbon you've created. You can click on the title of each switch for more information.
3) Balancing out the carbon you've produced by commuting and flying is a great place to start, but there's a lot more you could do. Why not try completing extra switches to make you a real green guru? You can also click on "what else can I do?" at the bottom of the page for more ideas on where to go next.

Although the terms 'carbon offsetting' and 'carbon balancing' are often used to mean the same thing, they're actually quite different. Click here for more information on what separates offsetting and balancing.
